چکیده
This study aimed to evaluate the wind environment in step-up and step-down urban canyons through a computational numerical experiment using fluid dynamics (CFD) model. Spatial structural conditions were considered according location of high-rise buildings, changing patterns inside compared analyzed by varying building heights. Under condition, velocity canyon weakened, vertical vortex formed, air flow separated; additionally, shallow deep canyons, detailed differed slightly each additional condition. For located center appeared be isolated, general phenomenon consistent with structures was observed. However, depending on isolated area, an roof-top field found affect other canyons. The components inflow outflow winds into based or conditions, first second Furthermore, greatly affected structures. Accordingly, height could various phenomena, such as separation vortices currents canyon, variable formed series for building.

Numerical Simulation of Wind Flow and Pollution Transport in Urban Street Canyons
In this study, a three-dimensional numerical simulation of the wind flow and pollutant transport in street canyons is carried out by a new specific solver, which is developed and coupled into an open source CFD tool box, the OpenFOAM package. The new model has been applied to study the effect of roof shapes and building heights on the flow patterns and pollutant transports in the street canyons...
متن کاملModeling GNSS Signals in Urban Canyons using Visibility Graphs
This paper addresses the problem of modeling and simulating RF-signals captured by receivers of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) in urban canyons. The presence of tall buildings in urban canyons often block lines of sight between receivers and GNSS satellites, and therefore signals reach the receivers indirectly, after bouncing off buildings. These multi-path and echo-only effects are...
متن کاملModeling of carbon monoxide dispersion around the urban tunnel portals
The aim of this study is to investigate the problems caused by discharge of polluted air from tunnels into the environment with a specific focus on residential areas. In city tunnels, portal or stacks, pollutant management is a big challenge. Nowadays, air quality management, particularly in urban tunnels, is considered as a part of the ventilation system design. The goal is to see the environm...
متن کاملNumerical and Physical Modeling of Bluff body Flow and Dispersion in Urban Street Canyons
To develop reliable computer models for the bluff body flow and transport of pollutants or chemical and biological (CB) agents in urban environments requires accurate measurements of the basic flow fields for carefully controlled, well-known conditions. Fluid modeling in an Industrial Wind Tunnel provides an opportunity to produce accurate simulations of the bluff body flow and transport of urb...
متن کاملDynamical Modeling of Stochastic Wind Flow in Street Canyons
For decades, the borders of building studies were restricted up to the exterior walls. With better understanding the side effect of urbanization on human health and with excessive progress in new investigation tools, the area of building studies were enlarged to neighborhood environment where mass and air transport vividly interacts with the buildings. Unlike the indoor studies, one can emphasi...
